Williamsburg, Jamestown, Yorktown, Virginia
In Williamsburg, students come to appreciate the daily life and faith
of men and women in Colonial America. They engage in a variety of
hands-on activities while they interact with costumed historical interpreters
and watch craftsmen use colonial methods in crafts ranging from wig
making to blacksmith work. Students experience the drama of the American
Revolution as they visit a re-created Continental Army encampment
in Yorktown. In Jamestown, the adventure of America's first permanent
colony comes to life as students explore a full-scale replica of a
colonial fort, board re-creations of the three ships that carried
early settlers to Virginia, and investigate the Powhatan Indian village.
